Ciao! I'm Alice, a linguistic mediator, polyglot and founder of Lingua Lunga Italian!
I was born near Venice and have taught Italian for nearly a decade to students from more than 15 countries. I hold a Bachelor’s degree with honors in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation, a Master’s degree with honors in Languages for International Communication, and a certification with first-class honors in Didactics of the Italian Language to Foreigners. In 2022 I launched my online Italian school called Lingua Lunga Italian to continue pursuing my dream of helping people master my native language. I’m fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

My Mission
I’m committed to providing the best Italian language preparation through an engaging learning environment. My tailor-made courses are high quality and are designed to take into account each learner’s characteristics. I also aim to promote Italian culture around the world! Italy is a small country but few parts of the world can claim so intense a range of natural beauty, arts, and architecture as Italy. It’s no surprise Italian is the fourth most studied language in the world. Knowing the language will open the doors to its beauty even more!
My Students
Anyone of any age can start learning a new language! It’s never too late! I‘ve been teaching students of all ages and nationalities and deaf people included: you just need consistency, enthusiasm, and passion. Did you get a scholarship to study at an Italian University? Do you qualify for Italian citizenship but you need to pass the B1 exam? Or do you just love the language and want to learn it and have fun with it? Then make yourself comfortable and start learning a new language with just with a click!

Improve your learning curve!
Many times students reach out to me to ask for help because they feel frustrated as they can’t see any improvements. Maybe they can understand well but lack fluency when speaking. I know how it feels as I have experienced this myself sometimes during my process of learning English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. That’s why I said to myself “I will create and design lessons with a special focus on communication and listening”. You will be able to talk right from the first lesson. And I always keep my promise. Your goal is my goal!
Do you already know the basics but you feel you’re at a point where you’ve hit a wall and can’t improve?
I know exactly how you feel and this is the most FAQ for me :
how can I really improve my learning curve and take my Italian to the next level?
Don’t waste any time and accelerate your learning curve with me!
I will give you tips to help you study more efficiently and reach your goal.
“Give a person an idea, and you enrich their day. Teach a person how to learn, and they can enrich their entire life.”
-Jim Kwik-
These are my rules of thumb
Be consistent
Dedicate a bit of time to studying Italian every day (15 to 30 minutes will do the trick).
Quality over quantity
Privilege quality over quantity. Learn in chunks and always study vocabulary in context.
Choose what you like
The brain remembers things it likes. Choose the topic of your interest and expand vocabulary.
Have fun
Enjoy learning the language through songs, podcasts, TV series. Do it at your own pace.

I will provide scaffolding and guidance and the student will be at the heart of the learning process. I will assign a little task after every lesson so the student can construct their own knowledge and progress will be consistent.

Empathy
It’s not only about teaching but also about empathy. I truly believe that an empathetic teacher plays a fundamental role in the learning process and in the creation of positive emotions during the lesson. Empathy and fun are the key ingredients.

I’m very conscious that each person has their own rhythm of learning. Thus, I promise you will always feel comfortable and at ease in every lesson and that I will adjust to your PACE! All my courses are designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) issued by the Council of Europe.

Why Lingua Lunga?
Lingua Lunga, which literally means “long tongue”, is not only the name of my school but is also an Italian idiom. Lingua Lunga identifies a chatterbox and this is my goal with you, to help you become a Lingua Lunga!
I strongly believe that a language lives through its idioms, people, traditions, and also gestures!!! In Italian gestures are closely coordinated with speech. Hand gestures are used in the Italian language as a form of nonverbal communication and expression. The gestures are dominated by movements of the hands and fingers, but also include movements of facial features such as eyebrows and the mouth.
By the way, why do Italians make this gesture?! Take a guess!!!
